Background. The etiology of congenital dysplasia of the hips is not sufficiently known. It is the result of many mechanical and physiological factors, from the mother and from the child. Early detection by examination and ultrasound diagnosis is important in reducing the operational treated children and the complications from this anomaly. Objectives. The aim of our study was to present the results of conservative treatment of dysplastic hips, diagnosed with ultrasound. Material and methods. The data are taken from the ambulance log in Clinic for orthopedic diseases in Skopje during 2009 year. Results. In terms of gender, female are represented with 64,1%. In terms of age at diagnostics, the diagnosis is established for 0-3 months in 74%. In terms of conservative treatment, were treated 94% of them, and only 6% with surgical treatment. Most of them were treated with abduction pants 73%, with strap 13%, and 8% with appliances. Conclusion. Successfully implemented prevention with ultrasound examination in the first three months of life of the child, reduces the percentage of children treated operatively.
