Delarque Alain*, Jean-Michel Viton, Laurent Bensoussan, Guillaume Lotito, André Bardot Medical School-University of the Mediterranean, University Hospital of Marseille, France *Corresponding author: Pr Alain Delarque, service de MPR, CHU Timone, 13 385 Marseille, France alain.delarque@ap-hm.fr There has been a dramatic increase in the number of people with motor disabilities during the last decades and this topic is a major concern in the field of PRM. ESM has been created to teach this important topic to PRM trainees. This high level summer school was set up by the department of PRM, Medical School-University of the Mediterranean, University Hospital of Marseille, France (Pr André Bardot, Pr Jean-Michel Viton, Dr Laurent Bensoussan and Pr Alain Delarque) in the frame of the Erasmus Socrates Intensive Teaching Programmes for higher education of the European Union (EU). A network of EU Universities was involved in this programme during the five first years. Such a teaching program on motor disabilities is difficult to organize at national level. It has been an opportunity to reach recent knowledge in the field, for trainees from the European Union, America, the Mediterranean area, Middle East and Africa.
